I have a bit of free time on my hands, so what could I do to have a bit of fun? I could go out, but at the time of writing this it is raining and it is quite cold outside, so that’s out of the picture. I could watch some TV, but I now how’s that going to end up – I will zap for a few minutes and realize there’s nothing good on, so that’s out of the picture as well.

I could put my computer to good use and play a free game, like the Briggs Softworks-developed Space Quarry. To play the game I’ll have to download it and install in on my Windows-powered machine. Not a problem – these are two simple steps that will complete in no time at all.

Getting Space Quarry off the web and onto my computer will only take a moment since the download weighs in at a mere 568KB. A less than 1MB download will complete in a blink even if you are on a less than spectacular internet connection. Installing the application will take little time as well – just launch the exe file, go through the steps presented by the setup wizard, and that’s it.

Once Space Quarry is up and running I can play it for as long as I want and not part with my hard earned money – that’s because the game is freeware. What’s the Space Quarry game like? It is a simple asteroid blaster arcade game. You are in command of a space ship and you have to maneuver it around and blast meteors.

You can play by yourself (single player) or you can play with a friend (multiple player).

At the time of writing this and according to the developer, Space Quarry provides support for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, or Vista. No Windows 7 support.
